The Note Mover Tool and the Special Tools only handle one measure at a time. If you're going to do a lot of editing using these tools on a passage (for example when doing extensive beam editing), you can save a lot of time by doing like this:
- Switch to Scroll View
- Rebar the music temporarily in the area into a "larger" time signature. For example, if you have your music in 4/4, you can rebar it into measures of 8/4 or 12/4.
- Select as many handles as possible in the measure (by using drag-enclose or some similar selection method) before you start editing with the tools.
- After you're done, rebar the music back to the original time signature
